*If you are applying for the Master Of Creative Performance Practice you must complete a separate Expression of Interest first. Please refer to the "Application Process" section on the course page before completing this form.

1. Applications for entry in 2025 are now closed for Undergraduate courses.

3. For Costume, Design, and Set & Props applicants, please don't forget to add your portfolio link. Or you can send it to us by email with your documents.
4. Please send the link to this Reference Form to ONE of your referees.
5. Acting applicants: the link to book your initial auditon is HERE. Audition scripts are available on the Acting page.
6. ALL applicants, don't forget to email apply@toiwhakaari.ac.nz :
* A digital headshot (passport-style, head and shoulders only, in .jpg/.jpeg format please)
* A copy of your passport or birth certificate
* A copy of your most recent academic record (NCEA, IB, GCSE, Degree or Diploma certificate or transcript etc.)

The National Student Number (NSN) is a unique number given to every student by the Ministry of Education. If you're currently at school, you can ask your school for your NSN. Otherwise, you can call the NZQA Call Centre on 0800 697 296 for assistance.

We are looking for potential and ability in the following areas:
- drawing;
- creative innovation;
- design process;
- collaboration;
- visual communication
- conceptual thinking.

Put together a portfolio which gives us an insight into:
- your ability to communicate ideas visually
- your process: the way you work things out; e.g. inspiration, research and working drawings. Include plans/images of the development stage for a project you have done (or dream of doing). We are happy to accept these as an accompanying workbook as well as inside your portfolio.
- your experience in your own area(s) of interest (screen, costume, set, props, stage, performance art, etc).your passion! This might be a project that you are proud of or that you have initiated.

You are more than welcome to bring hard copies/made items from your portfolio to your interview.

Provide colour photos of two costume or clothing projects (e.g. a costume for the school play, a garment you have made for yourself, etc.). Photos should include a complete front view of the garment, a complete back view, and close ups of any interesting detail. If you are selected for an interview you will be asked to bring this work with you. DO NOT SEND IN THE GARMENTS.
