By making a donation to Toi Whakaari's Production Fund you are helping students to create innovative and exciting performances.
We know that giving students the chance to create, present, and perform is the best way to hone their skills as artists, producers, and performers. Toi Whakaari's annual Production Program is at the heart of their training at Toi Whakaari and it takes an entire student team to put on just one production.
The "Toi Film" strand of Toi Whakaari is devoted to training students for a career in the screen industry. To do this, they make short films. Each film features the class of third-year acting students in front of the camera and a combination of professional crew and students from the school's other disciplines (Design, Management, Costume and Set & Props) behind it.
Films made in Toi Film premiere at the Embassy Theatre in November each year and many of the films are picked up for International Film Festivals.
Associating with Toi Film not only gives you wide brand coverage, but is the best way to develop Aotearoa's film talent.
Toi Whakaari's Festival of Work in Development (FWD) is open to all disciplines and holds nearly 70 research projects each year, created as tauira and kaiako of Toi Whakaari and shared both online and as theatre performances.
These works in development range from short films to performance art, workshops and radio plays. The performances are seen by a large number of people and there are donating and association opportunities for FWD 2021 available now.
