Staff and students have been working at home since Aotearoa went into lock down during the COVID 19 pandemic. Now we’re at Level 2, the time has come to return to Te Whaea.
Set and Props and Costume students were back in their workshop spaces on Thursday, 14 May. Arts Management students started working on site on Monday, 18 May and we welcome the Acting and Design departments on Monday, 25 May.
For the safety of all our students and staff:
Entry/exit to Te Whaea is via the main entrance
Entry by swipe card only
All students and staff, contractors and authorised visitors must register on VIS TAB entering/leaving the building
Hygiene stations are located at the main entrance, outside classrooms, in bathrooms and throughout the building
Social distancing protocols will be observed
Departments will stay within their own spaces
Lunch time and breaks will be staggered
New Zealand School of Dance staff and students will be working within Te Whaea but the two schools are staying separate until further notice.
Some students and staff will working from home at Level 2, so Zoom classes will continue alongside our onsite learning.
Staff and students have been doing an awesome job during the lock down, adapting to online teaching and utilising our new student learning management system, CANVAS. There has been a lot going on at Toi Whakaari over the last few months but we’re almost out the other side.
He waka eke noa. Thanks for your support everyone.
